JerseyCal widget updated to 2.1

JerseyCal allows you to create a personalized calendar using jerseys from the database, simply enter the ID numbers and set them on the widget and it will show the date showing the players of your choice. You can also select to display any player on your list of 31 whenever you want.

This update fixes the issue with the 4-digit cutoff that made any jersey with an ID over 9999 impossible to retrieve. It also adds resizing for easier entry. The Yahoo! version fixes the glitch with the dock not automatically updating and also makes it so that the day's jersey is shown on start instead of the entry pane.

In the future I hope to add some more functionality to this widget, like multiple calendars, calendar sharing, off-line mode, and more. As well as allow people to use custom jerseys not included in the database.

You can get JerseyCal 2.1 for both Dashboard and Yahoo! here: JerseyCal Update Page

What I wish it would do is start up in calendar mode when I restart my Mac, not make it make me choose it.

I knew there was something I forgot. I'll fix that in the coming update. Thanks for reminding me.

delicious,

The updated version on the site will now go automatically to calendar mode in Dashboard on start up, as long as you have a jersey selected for the current day. So, if you have all 31 spots filled it will go directly to "calendar mode".

Is it possible for one to have two iterations of the widget running at the same time with two different "rosters" of sweaters? Today I'm supposed to see Mike Foligno and Wendel Clark, but I'm only getting Foligno.

dave in rocha,

Yes...and no. If you are on Dashboard you could just open up a second copy, however it will only rememeber the prefrences for one of the calendars. For Yahoo! you could simply make a duplicate of the .widget file, call it JerseyCal2.widget or similar and you'll be able to have two calendars. (I think.)

As is, a calendar can only show one jersey per date. I hope to be able to include a multiple calendar function in a future version of the widget.

Hope that helps.
